Born in Budapest Hungary Artist Pal Fried (1893-1976) studied in Budapest, influenced by the French Impressionest, especially Renoir and Degas. Following WWII he emigrated to America where he began teaching at the Academy of Arts in New York. His move to Hollywood led to meetings with celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and the Gabor sisters. He became known for his paintings of beautiful young women, nudes, ballarinas. Griffith Art Gallery is proud to represent such a wonderful artist.
