Paul B. LotzBronze SculptorPaul Lotz creates bronze sculptures that invite viewers into imaginative worlds where emotion, satire, and storytelling collide. With a childlike wonder that never left him, Lotz crafts works that feel both timeless and timely—each piece whispering secrets of fictional histories, human vulnerability, and whimsical possibility. Raised in the small town of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Lotz was a creative child drawn to art, history, and storytelling. His parents nurtured that spark, and it eventually led him to Tyler School of Art, where he graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. A semester in Rome ignited his fascination with Renaissance masters and classical art—a formative experience that stayed with him even as he entered the business world and set aside his creative tools.Years later, a visit to a group sculpture exhibition rekindled that passion. He began working with clay, rediscovering the joy of forming figures by hand. But it wasn’t until he transitioned to bronze that his creative voice fully emerged. The strength and permanence of the medium allowed him to bring to life emotionally charged, detail-rich sculptures with a surreal and sometimes satirical twist. Lotz’s work is deeply rooted in the traditions of the old masters, but his voice is distinctly his own. He sculpts from the inside out—starting with emotional truth, then layering in narrative, nuance, and unexpected tension. Whether exploring the line between fantasy and reality or innocence and experience, his sculptures draw viewers in, urging them to explore, touch, and connect.“I want people to feel what the subject is feeling,” Lotz says. “It doesn’t have to be my story—but it has to inspire them to find their own.” Today, Paul Lotz continues to push the boundaries of bronze, creating sculptures that challenge the viewer, celebrate imagination, and offer an escape into beautifully strange and thought-provoking worlds.
