Philip J. Romano has maintained a parallel painting practice for more than three decades, guided by a belief in intention, reciprocity, and personal connection. While widely known for his entrepreneurial career, Romano’s engagement with painting has remained constant, shaped by a reflective worldview that later found clarity through his introduction to Reflectionism. Working on custom made, oversized canvases, Romano’s paintings are characterized by bold scale, saturated color, and direct emotional presence. His approach emphasizes energy and immediacy, with each work conceived as an extension of the values that inform his broader humanitarian and philanthropic commitments. Personal connection remains central to his practice, reinforcing his belief that art carries both emotional and environmental resonance. Born in New York, Romano studied at Florida Atlantic University before relocating to Dallas, Texas. He is the founder of several influential restaurant concepts, including Fuddruckers, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Spageddies, Cozymel’s, Rudy’s Country Store and Barbeque, and EatZi’s Market and Bakery. Alongside his business ventures, Romano serves on academic and corporate boards, lectures nationally, and remains actively engaged in charitable initiatives.
