"Myself, Between Two Worlds"Growing up in Spain, my creativity was shaped by the Catalan culture in which I was immersed. From an early age, three of the greatest artists of the 20th century, Picasso, Miro and Dali, influenced my realisation that painting need not be limited to recording reality, that my imagination allowed me to perceive and display on canvas, my visions of another dimension. Since moving to Australia 29 years ago, yet another culture has enfolded me and with great interest I have studied the artists of my adopted country, from traditional Aboriginal art to the contemporary 20th century artists, Brett Whitely and Sidney Nolan. Though very different in style, they all share the gift of imagination which is displayed in their artwork. Finding myself between the two worlds of Catalonia and Australia, my painting is a dedication to my three Spanish icons and two great Australians.
