BiographyPounding and shaping wet clay is very relaxing and therapeutic after a fun filled work day of adding commas, fixing typos, and finding stock images of herbal supplements. A twenty-five pound brick of clay has endless possibilities and opportunities of becoming strange and interesting new characters from my imagination. Sometimes I sketch a concept or simply draw inspiration from observing the people around me. Ceramics are still a new medium that I have been working with for the last five years. There are so many techniques to shaping clay that I find so rewarding, it is the ultimate stress ball squeeze. I have always painted with watercolor and acrylics from an early age. Before sculpting in ceramics I was building backyard sculptures with 3/8's rebar, mortar mix, and housing lath to build a skeletal structure to mosaic with glass tile. I have been an Art Director for 10 years at Informa Markets Phoenix, H&N network working on a myriad of print and digital products.
