Colorist Rene Culler works primarily with glass, incorporating kiln casting, multi-layered panel work fusion, and vitreous painting into her process. Her blown glass is inspired by Venetian technique, form, and pattern. Culler's Mobile Museum of Art installation, "The Alabama Delta: Glass and Light," promoted her love of beauty in nature found in Alabama. Culler's themes are the celebration of light through color and the transience of beauty through the passage of time. The artist has both a BFA and MFA in Glass. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Culler is a Fulbright Research Fellow. Her work can be found in numerous museums including the Smithsonian. Culler work and lives in Mobile, Alabama.
