Ric Sprynczynatyk sold his first painting when he was 12 years old. Completely self taught, he has gone on to become an artist of international renown. A native of Bismarck, Ric made a name for himself with his pop art style portraiture, doing works for celebrities like Bob Hope, Donny and Marie Osmond, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Bon Jovi, the bands Heart, Alabama, and many more. In the early 90's he contracted with the owner of a local McDonald's to do a large scale painting in the newly renovated restaurant. That expanded to painting restaurants around the region, and led him to Sky Art, a company that did large scale painting around the world. Ric went into this endeavor with force. For over 30 years, Ric was lead painter for some of the largest painting projects in the world. He painted sky ceilings at Caesar's Palace, the Venetian and Grande Canals, Treasure Island, the Luxor, and several other Las Vegas properties, as well as properties throughout the US. Back home in Bismarck, Ric painted the ceiling at the airport, the Northern Pacific Train Depot, and the outer space ceiling at Space Aliens. For this work, he was featured on HGTV's "Modern Masters". Ric went international from there. He painted his sky's for malls in Tokyo and Manilla. He painted temples in India. He painted the largest sky ceiling in history in China, the process documented by National Geographic. He has painted private homes around the world, including for Francis Ford Coppola in Napa. He traveled to Mexico, where he painted 37 sky ceilings for the cancer research center, Scantibodies. He painted an outer space scene in the children's wing at MedCenter One hospital for the Amber's Dream project. Ric had the honor of presenting his portrait to Ukranian president Vololdymyr Zelensky at the Ukranian Embassy in Washington D.C. Today Ric resides at his home and studio in Bismarck, painting what he likes, and taking commissions as he feels.
