These prints are highly sought after and treasured by those who have stood in long lines—some waited up to an hour and a half during the Farnborough Air Show—to have them signed.Mr. Thompson’s passion is to honor the members of our military and their families. In addition to the scores of paintings he has produced for LMMFC and its military customers, the artist has produced several works in his personal home studio and donated them to the military as a way of personally thanking the Warfighters for their service. He carries prints of these paintings in his car to autograph and present to servicemen and women he comes into contact with during his daily travels, along with a handshake and a heart-felt thank you.An avid military aviation buff, Rick is also a skilled aviation mechanic and restorer and a licensed commercial pilot with a classic jet fighter rating. One of Rick’s restoration projects was a vintage single-seat de Havilland DH-100 Vampire jet fighter that he returned to airworthiness and flew to air shows for 13 years. He is currently restoring a 1934 Fairchild F-24 C8-C that he acquired in Alaska which has not flown since 1955. It soon will.
