RitaGT is a critical and interventionist artist, addressing concepts such as memory, identity and the importance of human rights. Rita's itinerant lifestyle has allowed her to develop a deeply international scope to her practice, always valuing the historical viewpoints of the many cultures with which she has come into contact. The colonial symbolism that is recurrent in her work further defines her own identity and artistic language. The artist uses images, words, and performances to interrogate and experiment, pushing the limits of the materials she uses and the concepts she addresses. RitaGT has a degree in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, completed the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at the Maumaus School of Visual Arts in Lisbon and attended the Master of Fine Arts program at the Malmö Art Academy - Lund University in Malmö, Sweden.
