BRONZE CALIFORNIA, USA For 40 years, Rob Burman has been “playing” with clay, a passion that began in his childhood when his father handed him the soft material to keep him occupied. Rob’s father wasn’t just any dad—he was a pioneer in Hollywood’s Make-up and Effects industry, known for iconic projects like “The Planet of the Apes” and “Lost In Space.” Following in his father’s footsteps, Rob began working alongside him straight out of high school, quickly carving out his own impressive career with credits in legendary films such as “The Thing,” “Ghostbusters,” and “The Fly.” Rob’s love for the craft is evident in his sculpted designs, which have been seen by millions worldwide in nearly 300 films and television shows. While immersed in his career, Rob also discovered the artistic legacy of his grandfather, Ellis Burman, a sculptor of monuments and museum pieces during the Great Depression. Ellis created war memorials and busts of notable figures, including Eleanor Roosevelt. As a third-generation artist, Rob was deeply inspired by his family’s legacy, and his passion for clay sculpture only grew stronger. Throughout his career, Rob has sculpted hundreds of pieces, ranging from masks to monsters, from the whimsical to the ultra-realistic. His mind is a treasure trove of ideas, each creation brimming with personality and wonder, reflecting a lifetime’s worth of sculptural achievement.
