(1932 - 2021) Robert Chennault was a self-taught artist whose original style is known throughout New Mexico and Texas. Chennault's eye for color and the natural world is evident in his work. The artist received the Recognition of Creative Excellence from the Lubbock Advertising Federation in 1978 and the Arrowhead Award from American Plains Artists in 1982. His artwork was featured on three covers of the KLLL West Texas Almanac. Chennault was active in the Lynn County Art Association as well as the Post Art Guild. His paintings were featured in Artists of Texas, volume II and volume IV. In 1999, Chennault's work appeared in the nationally syndicated Lummus Corporation calendar. Although Robert Chennault received many awards and accolades, he was always humble and ready to give back to the community by donating artwork whenever he was asked. He also loved to share his talent by providing painting workshops in the Lubbock, Texas, area. He was a big talent and had the same big love for his family.*
