Robert Harris is a Buffalo-based painter, illustrator, and mixed-media artist known affectionately within the local arts community as “The Everywhere Artist.” Though he completed visual and media coursework at the University at Buffalo, he chose not to pursue a formal art degree, preferring instead a self-directed path that allows for experimentation and growth. Harris gained recognition through both his prolific output and his active presence in Western New York’s creative scene — exhibiting work in cafés, bookstores, and community venues while showing up consistently to support other artists. In 2016, Harris presented his first museum solo exhibition, Painting in Progress, at the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University as part of the TopSpin Emerging Artist Series. The show featured figurative paintings shaped by photography, digital culture, and imaginative reconstruction. Across his career, Harris has explored themes of memory, connection, and the emotional texture of everyday life. His warm, generous personality and steady engagement with the community have made him a valued presence in Buffalo’s arts landscape, extending his influence well beyond the studio.
