Haitian artist Roland Palanquet was born in 1941 in Jacmel. Educated at the Brothers of Christian Instruction and Lycée Pinchinat High School, he became a businessman working in his father's pharmacy. In 1967, he changed his career to painting and was introduced by Préfète Duffaut to the Nader Galley, who bought his works.
