Roman Feral is a Paris born, Miami based artist whose sculptural practice operates at the intersection of nature, luxury, and cultural symbolism. Drawing from fashion industry codes and his European background, Feral’s work examines refinement, impermanence, and the transformation of organic form into enduring object. Central to his practice is the use of butterflies, arranged in suspended flight to suggest movement, transition, and temporal pause. Through careful composition and precise installation, Feral transforms fragile natural elements into structured environments that balance delicacy with permanence. These works frame the ephemeral as something preserved, emphasizing restraint and visual intensity. Following his debut presentation during Art Basel Miami in 2018, Feral has established an international presence, with exhibitions and representation across Europe and the United States. His work has been acquired by major private collections, including an acquisition by Chanel for its private museum collection. Environmental responsibility remains integral to Feral’s practice. All butterflies are ethically sourced, with close attention given to origin, material reuse when possible, and respectful treatment. His work maintains a deliberate balance between natural beauty and human design, prioritizing precision and lasting visual engagement.
