Romelle is a contemporary artist based in Mexico City whose work is a vibrant and dynamic exploration of color and mixed-media techniques. Referencing her background in abstract painting and mural art, her work is characterized by its bold use of color and spray paint, among other nontraditional materials. Her neon-infused pieces are particularly striking, creating a sense of energy and movement that draws viewers in. At the core of Romelle’s practice is a deep-seated study of healing on both an individual and community scale. Romelle’s work is a reflection of her personal experiences living in different parts of the world, particularly her hometown of Detroit, Michigan, and most recently Mexico City. Through her work, Romelle continues to seek positive change by emphasizing confluences between art and shared community. Romelle graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Studio Art, along with a BA in Advertising, and a minor in Technology Arts & Media. Her recent projects include, a mural for Wynwood Mural Festival at Art Basel Miami (2022), an exhibition with HABITAT x Pentágano in Mexico City, and a Group Show in Guangzhou, China.
