Fellow, National Sculpture Society, NY Society of Animal Artists, NY Northwest Rendezvous Group, MT American Women Artists, NM Board Member, Creative Sector Development Commission, Loveland, CO Though drawn to modeling in clay at a very young age, Rosetta's formal art training was in commercial art. Her art and design education came from the University of Delaware, Art Center College of Design in L.A. and a 20 year career in graphic design (specializing in trademark, logo and packaging design), which also prepared her for self-employment in the business of being a sculptor. Her subjects are animals, another childhood passion. Stuffed animals took the place of dolls, and recurring nightmares of being stalked by big cats evolved into wonder-filled dreams of friendly encounters with them. Admiration and respect for the grace, power, and nobility of the wild ones is evident in Rosetta's sculptures, which capture their spirit, form, and movement in a unique hard-edged yet fluid style. Rosetta’s work, ranging from miniature to monumental, has been purchased for museum, public art and corporate and private collections and has been exhibited nationally and internationally in museums and galleries, in juried and invitational exhibitions, where it has garnered many awards from such exhibitions as the National Sculpture Society, Northwest Rendezvous Group, Society of Animal Artists, American Women Artists, Allied Artists of America, Artists for Conservation, Bennington Center for the Arts, Pen & Brush Inc., and the Bosque Conservatory Art Council. Other exhibitions include solo shows at the Brevard Museum of Art and Science in Melbourne, FL, Indiana University, Southwestern Michigan College, Southern Oregon State College and Gallery Americana in Carmel, CA, and group shows at the National Geographic Society in Washington DC, Brookgreen Gardens SC, Meguro Museum of Art in Tokyo, The Smithsonian Institution, National Academy of Design in NY, National Museum of Wildlife Art WY, North American Sculpture Exhibition CO, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum WI, California Museum of Art, J.N. Bartfield Gallery in NYC, Albuquerque Museum of Art, Arizona Museum for Youth and “Feline Fine” traveling exhibition, among many others.
