Sarah Gentry (b. 1966) is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, a wife, a mother and a born again artist. While she has always had an appreciation for art and received a B.A. in studio art from Hollins College, it wasn’t until after her days of carpool duty passed that she found the time to devote to painting. Sarah loves working with many different mediums, especially acrylics, watercolor and gouache. She loves the freedom that abstract painting allows, and enjoys exploring and combining mediums. Her style is always evolving but she is mostly inspired by color, light, and shapes. Her love of flowers are what she is most known for. When once asked by an art teacher in college what a certain painting “meant”, her answer was “I painted it because I think it’s pretty”. She stands by that same answer today - she creates to reflect the beauty seen in our surroundings and for people to own something that brings them joy and makes their home a more beautiful place.
