Sean P. Dwyer began his artistic career after years sketching and painting scenes from life on the road. After settling in Key West in 2021, his art transitioned to the historic and colorful vistas of Old Town and the waterfront. Sean sets up his easel outdoors, engaging directly with the environment. Mentored by local folk artist Andy Thurber, Sean's approach is both a nod to traditional styles and a continuous exploration of new expressions. Sean’s artwork incorporates bold, spontaneous strokes, using bright, wet-on-wet watercolor washes followed by intricate Sumi ink drawings. His pieces, created from start to finish on location, reflect a maturing style that resonates with art lovers who appreciate the connection between artist, environment, and artwork.
