Surrounded by multiple generations of artists, Shawn Ramirez began painting and drawing at a young age. Encouraged by a creative family environment, she grew up immersed in art, inspired in part by her parents, artists Sandra and Ken Dust, whose work is shown locally. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, Ramirez creates paintings rich with bold color and layered texture. Her work explores themes drawn from current events, personal experience, spirituality, and the natural world.
