Stephen Dorsett is known for his unconventional use of materials and his incorporation of environmental themes in his artwork. His work has been included in juried shows in galleries such as the Lexington Art League in Lexington, KY, the Kavanagh Gallery in St. Charles, IL, and the Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. His recent series of landscapes made from recycled consumer products was featured in a solo exhibition in the 2021 Louisville Photo Biennial. He received a B.S. in studio art from Murray State University in 1999 and later a master’s degree in art education from Eastern Kentucky University. He has taught painting, photography, and drawing at the high school level for fourteen years.
