"Working this way is consistent with my interest in motion and transitory forms, as each brush mark holds the possibility of altering the painting entirely." In her inquiry into the concept of fragmentation, Sydney Yeager observes independent parts colliding into a whole and then collapsing back into separate units through color and form, examining the forces at play in their disintegration. Her vibrant and gestural brushwork against raw, natural linen captures dynamic motion in 2D. Yeager is an Austin-based artist and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, receiving both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Art. Her work is a part of private collections around the world and can be found in museum collections such as The MFA in Houston, El Paso Museum of Art, Tyler Museum of Art, Museum of South Texas, Houston, and corporate collections such as BBVA, Toyota, Samsung, Neiman Marcus, Kendra Scott, and American Airlines.
