Born in Los Angeles, Teresa Stanley received her BA from UC Santa Barbara and her MFA from U.C. Berkeley. After completing her graduate studies, she relocated to Arcata, California on the coast of Northern California to take a teaching job at Cal Poly Humboldt, where the rural beauty of that area profoundly influenced her work. Her work has been featured in the print publication International Painting Annual as well as the international publication New Art Project Magazine. She has exhibited across the country, including at Bryant Street Gallery in Palo Alto, the Painting Center in NYC, the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek and the SF MOMA Artist’s gallery and her work can be found in many private and corporate collections. She recently completed a residency at SkopArt in Skopelos, Greece. She is currently represented by LaFontsee Gallery in Michigan, Blue Gallery in Kansas City and Bryant Street Gallery in Palo Alto. After a career teaching painting at Cal Poly Humboldt, she retired in 2021 in order to work fulltime out of her studio in coastal Northern California.
