Vanessa enjoys experimenting with different mediums and materials: mosaics, found objects, and sculpture in addition to traditional two-dimensional paintings. Her work is rich with cultural and wildlife imagery from around the world. She finds particular inspiration in the work of various Asian and African artists and she loves surprising her Art Enables friends with images of rare animals she discovers online. Vanessa enlivens even the most structured of subjects with her expressive, shapely style and her talent for executing meticulous details and textures. She uses her studio time to build her portfolio and connect with other artists. Outside Art Enables, Vanessa is a proud and active advocate for people with disabilities in the DC area. She hopes people appreciate the effort she puts into her art, along with its unique style, technique, and spirit.
