Viviana Zargón (b. 1958, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist whose work spans photography, painting, installation, and conceptual practice. She studied at the University of Barcelona, School of Fine Arts, where she was awarded the annual Government of Catalunya scholarship for emerging artists, and graduated with degrees in Drawing and Fine Arts before returning to Argentina to begin a professional artistic career.Zargón has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across the Americas and Europe. Her work has been shown in solo presentations at venues including Galería Ruth Benzacar (Buenos Aires), Brazil Art Space (Houston), Galleria Banchi Nuovi (Rome), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (Lima), and Aluna Art Foundation (Miami). She has also participated in many institutional group exhibitions at museums and cultural centers such as the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, Fundación Joan Miró (Barcelona), Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Buenos Aires), Museo Caraffa(Córdoba), Museo de Arte Moderno de República Dominicana, and the Latino Museum of History, Art & Culture(Los Angeles).Zargón’s work is included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Museo de Arte Moderno, República Dominicana; Museo de Arte Moderno de Puerto Rico; and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Panamá. Her art explores industrial architecture, abandoned spaces, and the semantic reconfiguration of reality, often folding photography, painting, and symbolic narrative into immersive visual experiences.Her contributions to Argentine contemporary art have been recognized with awards including the First Photography Prize at the National Visual Arts Salon (109th edition, Argentina 2020–2021), where she was honored for her series Objetos memorables.Zargón lives and works in Buenos Aires, continuing to exhibit internationally and expand her practice through conceptual inquiry and multidisciplinary expression.
