Will Thompson is a self-taught mixed-media painter and photographer. He began painting in 2020 when the global pandemic forced him to paint what he could no longer photograph. What started as an escape evolved into a passion for capturing stories via a canvas. Will grounds his work in composition and careful abstraction which hands the narrative power to the viewer, allowing the them to access each piece of art through their own perspective and lived experience.–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––“I want to drop you in the middle of a situation with no context and only your unique perspective to rely on. My art is centered in familial stories, emotion, and conflict. It represents the people I know and the stories they share. I want my art to offer several entry points, giving the viewers narrative control over the story they see on the canvas.”
