Yoni Alter is a Portugal-based designer and artist. He has created work for clients such as BoxPark Shoreditch, ESPN Magazine, and The Guardian as well as a range of merchandise for the Tate Museum and a number of mobile apps. Space Gallery St Barth presents a selection of Alter’s most recent creations, including limited-edition sculptures Stainless Love, Narcissus, and A Real Cloud, each reflecting Alter's mastery of material and form. Together, they exemplify his capacity to imbue solid objects with personality, movement, and narrative, offering collectors and audiences alike a rare opportunity to experience the artist’s visionary dialogue between art and design. Yoni Alter’s work exists at the intersection of design, sculpture, and playful innovation. With a practice rooted in precision, material exploration, and a refined sense of form, Alter transforms everyday objects into extraordinary experiences. His pieces—ranging from functional furniture to collectible sculptures—explore the delicate balance between utility and artistic expression, inviting viewers to engage both visually and physically. Across his oeuvre, Alter demonstrates a fascination with geometry, reflection, and the dialogue between the tangible and the ephemeral. Surfaces are polished, curves are considered, and every line is intentional, creating works that are both visually striking and conceptually rich. His art speaks to the tension between permanence and transience, minimalism and whimsy, and the functional and the poetic. ABOUT THE ARTIST Yoni Alter is an Israeli-born artist and designer whose work occupies the intersection of art, furniture, and sculptural form. With a practice defined by meticulous craftsmanship, bold geometry, and playful elegance, Alter transforms everyday objects into objects of wonder. His creations are characterized by a seamless fusion of color, material, and form, each piece inviting tactile and visual engagement. Drawing inspiration from architecture, minimalism, and the human body, Alter’s work challenges the boundaries between functional design and contemporary sculpture. Through his innovative approach, he imbues furniture and sculptural objects alike with a sense of personality and presence, creating works that are as engaging in a gallery as they are in a domestic environment. Sculpture: Stainless Love (Edition of 6), 2025 Stainless Love is a celebration of connection, reflection, and the enduring nature of love. Crafted in polished stainless steel, this limited-edition sculpture captures the concept of The Love Continuum—the idea that love is constant, present, and perceptible when seen from the right perspective, much like the truths of life itself. Its reflective surfaces not only mirror the surrounding environment but also encourage introspection, inviting viewers to consider how perception shapes experience. The sculpture’s curved, flowing forms suggest intimacy, movement, and continuity, embodying the eternal and shifting qualities of human connection. With only six editions produced, Stainless Love stands as both a tangible object and a philosophical meditation, reminding us that love—like life—is ever-present, unfolding, and revealed when approached with openness and attention. Sculpture: Narcissus (Edition of 3), 2025 Narcissus explores reflection, self-perception, and the ways we engage with our own image. In this edition of three, Alter presents a sculpture with mirrored surfaces and fluid forms that invite contemplation and discovery. Drawing on the classical myth of Narcissus, the work reframes the story in a contemporary context, where reflection becomes a metaphor for self-awareness and the complexity of identity. The interplay of polished curves and negative space allows the sculpture to reveal new perspectives from each angle. Through Narcissus, Alter examines how perception is shaped by context, encouraging the viewer to consider how understanding oneself—and life itself—requires attention, openness, and reflection. Sculpture: A Real Cloud (Edition of 3), 2025 A Real Cloud captures the ephemeral beauty of nature in tangible form. Limited to three editions, the sculpture evokes the lightness and unpredictability of a floating cloud, while its precise craftsmanship grounds it in permanence. The undulating surfaces and dynamic contours create a sense of movement, inviting the viewer to experience the work from multiple perspectives. Through this piece, Alter transforms fleeting natural phenomena into a meditative object. A Real Cloud embodies the balance between impermanence and materiality, revealing the poetic tension between imagination and reality, and offering a quiet moment of reflection within its solid form.
